About

A Purpose of the DMSS Workshops

Analyzing a wide variety of massive-scale complex data is the central and challenging issue in the data science community.  The purpose of the DMSS workshops is to bring together researchers from data mining, machine learning and statistical science, and have extensive discussions on diverse aspects of these fields.  Further, this workshop responses to the increasing requests for extensive and structured discussions on data sciences.

This workshop was firstly sponsored by Grant-in-aid for Specially Promoted Research on Semistructured Data Mining in 2006, by JSAI SIG-DMSM (Data Mining and Statistical Mathematics) from 2007, and IEICE IBISML (Information Based Induction Sciences and Machine Learning) Technical Group from 2011.

A Scope of the DMSS Workshops

Topics of interest include, but not limited to, the following areas:

  • Machine Learning
  • Data Mining
  • Statistical Modeling
  • Probabilistic and Statistical Reasoning
  • Data Visualization
  • Algorithmic Search and Reasoning for Data Mining
  • Algebraic Approach to Data Mining
  • Data Base Architecture and Processing for Data Mining
